Family Pool Enhancements

A proposal for the next era

Family Pool Enhancements

We are excited to share our proposal for the next era of our main pool: a full rebuild of the pool that anchors the resort today, with a new water slide, a children’s splash pad, and more seating, shade, and cabanas for the families who make La Quinta their desert tradition.

A proposal for the next era

Our Family Experience, Reimagined

For 100 years, La Quinta Resort & Club has been where families come to soak up the desert.

Our main pool is the center of that life: morning laps, afternoon cannonballs, one more swim before dinner. This proposal reinvests in that experience, rebuilding the pool that is already here and adding new ways for every generation to enjoy it.

A water slide

A children’s splash pad

More seating and cabanas

More shade, more room to gather, more space for the slow afternoons.

A clear proposal

And a few things this project is not.

  • It is not a new or separate facility.

It is the same pool, in the same place, rebuilt and improved.

  • It is not a change in how the pool is used.

We do not sell day passes to our pools, and this project does not change that.

  • It is not final.

The proposal is under City review, and nothing has been approved.

First Looks

A view of our vision

We are stewards of this iconic resort's history, and we hold that responsibility closely. The enhancements are being designed with intention, so that every new element feels in place with the character and style that have defined La Quinta Resort since 1926. Reinvesting in the property is part of our long-term responsibility to it.

Proposal renderings will be added as they become available.

We filed our application with the City of La Quinta.

Neighbor conversations

We brought the plans to our immediate neighbors so they would hear about the project directly from us rather than from a public notice. Those conversations were candid, and we are still working through what neighbors raised.

FAQs

Questions we are hearing.

Is this a water park?

No. This project rebuilds our existing main pool and adds a water slide, a children’s splash pad, and additional seating and cabanas. The plans on file with the City of La Quinta show exactly what is proposed.

Will day passes be sold? Who can use the pool?

We do not sell day passes to our pools, and this project does not change that. The pool continues to serve the same audience as it is today.

Has the project been approved?

No. We filed our application with the City of La Quinta in late 2025. The application is under City review. It has not been presented to the Planning Commission, no hearing has been scheduled, and nothing has been approved.

What impact would this project have on noise?

Noise has been a design consideration from the start. The pool area is laid out to keep sound within the resort, and the water slide is oriented to project sound toward the interior of the property. An independent noise study completed in February 2026 and expanded in August 2026 modeled a worst-case scenario, with the slide, the pool, and all seating areas in use at the same time. Even in that scenario, sound levels at the nearest homes would remain within the City of La Quinta's daytime noise limits. Construction noise would be temporary and limited to the hours the City allows.

What about water use and operating hours?

The pool is expected to use water at levels comparable to a traditional swimming pool of similar size and use. Operating hours and other details will be finalized as part of the normal planning and approval process.
