Coachella & Stagecoach Are Back!
by Jan Maguire
This April marks “music festival month” here in Greater Palm Springs with the highly-anticipated return of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Stagecoach, California’s Country Music Festival. Thousands of music fans from around the world will take over the Empire Polo Club in Indio for three consecutive long weekends (Coachella, April 15-17 and April 22-24; Stagecoach, April 29-May 1)
This year’s epic lineup for Coachella features big name headliners Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Swedish House Mafia + The Weeknd, Megan Thee Stallion, Phoebe Bridgers, Flume, Doja Cat, and many more. Tickets are sold out but you can still get on a waitlist for both weekends by visiting the festival website.
Campers and RVs show up en masse and the fields will likely be a sea of Stetsons and snakeskin boots when Stagecoach rides into town on April 29. Country superstars scheduled to appear include Thomas Rhett, Maren Morris, Midland, Carrie Underwood, Brothers Osborne, Lee Brice, Luke Combs, The Black Crowes, Cody Johnson, and several others, plus Motown legend Smokey Robinson on the bill.
Festival art always plays a starring role at Coachella and Stagecoach—you can expect spectacular, fantastical installations from this year’s featured artists to include Architensions, local artist Christopher Cichocki, sculptor Don Kennell, Buenos Aires-based Estudio Normal, Kiki Van Eijk, Newsubstance, Oana Stănescu, and returning favorites DoLaB, Balloon Chain, and Raices Cultura.
If you’d like to avoid driving through music fest traffic and parking at the Empire Polo Club, Valley Music Travel offers comfortable shuttle buses between the venue and several hotel properties including La Quinta Resort & Club.
